BEAT PARAMEDICS

About safe working hours

Above all, occupational health and patient safety are our primary concern at Beat Medical.

We monitor the working hours of all of the doctors working with us to ensure that safety is maintained at all times in terms of the number of hours, travel arrangements, and shift sequences. Although it can be tempting to work as many hours as possible as a locum, we will never allow a placement that we consider to be dangerous.

As any of us can be 'wheeled' into an emergency department at any time, we want to do our bit to make sure that the doctor seeing us has not been placed in an unsafe work sequence.

The AMA has set guidelines on safe working hours, which are a good basis for referring to. We encourage anyone working in the medical environment to read through and understand this important information. Click here to download those guidelines.

If you have any questions about safe working hours, please do not hesitate to contact Beat Medical on 1800 633 505.
