Work where every little thing you do makes a big difference in patients' livesADI needs volunteer health managers who are motivated to work in a place where life is not only a challenge, it's an adventure. You might have a background in health administration, public health, or nursing with management experience.
The main duties of this role are:
-Help implement programs on immunisation, TB, leprosy, malaria, STIs and maternal care. -Conduct community and school health talks. -Organise doctors’ patrol schedule and field logistics. -Work hand-in-hand with local organisations to improve health service delivery. -Help improve the drug and medical supply line. Requirements for this position include: -Qualifications and experience in health management. -Candidates might have a background in health administration, public health, or nursing with management experience. -Commitment to team work, coaching, and mentoring others. -Ability to teach and educate health workers, communities and school children. -Awareness of and sensitivity to other cultures. -A preparedness to work with limited resources within a challenging environment.
The position is based at the Montford Catholic Mission in the port town of Kiunga, Western Province, which is an administrative hub located approximately two hours by plane from Port Moresby (view photos). The position requires travel throughout Western Province.
Other positions will become available in 2011 as ADI expands to other areas of PNG.
We need people who can start soon and commit for 6 or 11 month long assignments.
